Explore a world in beautiful voxel-based visuals.
Customize your robot with items you get from your adventures.
Play blaster matches against fellow players in the virtual world.
In Blockstar Planet, you give yourself your very own robot. Like your own child, this robot is yours to take care of. You can customize its equipment. You can edit its appearance. You can take it on adventures with you through which you can find loot that you can use to further make its abilities and appearance even better!
There are a lot of activities that you can do here. The main part of the virtual world is the Game section, however. This section gives the game an MMO feel, because the games here are Player versus Player outings that pits your robot against other robots within the virtual world. The rules are even simple - just blast the enemy away until it’s dead and you earn points.
While the matches are inherently simple that anyone can play them, the users of Blockstar Planet make up for the wide diversity of arenas through which people can duke out against one another. You have the parkour arena, an arena where you must run and jump as fast and as high as you can because you could fall into the stream of lava underneath.
There’s also Pokeball arena, which is basically an outdoor arena shaped like a ball from that popular game from Nintendo. Unlike the Parkour arena, however, you can only fight within the bounds of the square-shaped arena.
Aside from blasting and killing other people’s robots, you also get points by assisting other players (who are also your opponents eventually) in blasting their enemies.
You can also look at the different robots created by other users of the virtual world through the Explore functionality. There’s a peer review functionality here in this virtual world. A true community, other players can critique and express their appreciation of the handiwork of their fellow Robo Blaster. You can “Like” the robots, and you can also leave comments.
Of course, they can also do the same to your robot.
Robots with the most feedback and Likes will be put into the “Trending” section of the Explore menu, which will increase their reputation even more as they are exposed to more audiences.
The controls here could take some time for you to get used to. The arrow keys are used to control the camera, which has a fully three-dimensional range of movement. Up and Down basically lets you look up and look down the virtual world, while left and right rotates the camera in that direction.
Movement is carried out using the A,S,W and D buttons, just like you would in an MMO.
The mouse has no specific function in movement, but it is useful in clicking the Menus that you would like to explore.
If you’re looking for a different experience in virtual worlds or you’re looking for a new voxel-based world to explore, then sign up now for Blockstar Planet.
