Games inspired by Minecraft are commonplace. Although Mojang’s original creation is still the best game with block-building, survival, and RPG elements rolled into one, there are decent titles and alternatives. One of which is World of Cubes Survival Craft. The game is a perfect Minecraft clone, and is further complemented with original additions, like scarier monsters and a focus on survival, as its namesake suggests. Available for both Android and iOS users, the game offers multiplayer support and is arguably the best option for anyone looking for a free-to-play block building adventure game.

World of Cubes Survival Craft has a variety of blocks available, rivaling that of its parent game. The early game activities are pretty simple: gather resources, build a shelter, hunt animals, and defeat monsters to survive the scary and dangerous nights. The game’s monsters are pretty unique and varied: from zombies and humanoid monsters with pumpkin heads. Apart from these, there are also animals you can hunt, from cows, sheep, pigs, and horses. Remember, you’ll need to hunt them so you can have something to eat and live another day, especially in survival mode.

One of the best features of the game is its outstanding and varied customization options. For example, you character skins can be changed and can spice up your appearance when you go online in multiplayer mode. You can select from looking like an Angel, the Frankenstein monster, a Vampire, and even football star Lionel Messi. You don’t end up with the same avatar as everyone else, giving you a unique sense of identity and individuality. Note that these skins are grouped into packs, and some of which include: monsters, cartoons, and sport. The blocks are customized as well, and are divided into several texture packs which include classic, medieval, and technology. You can then use them to construct unique wonders other players would have never seen before.

The multiplayer mode is nothing short of outstanding. Currently, the game has centralized servers with more than 10 maps, which you are free to explore in and interact with other players. Note that these maps are well-designed and themed, putting a nice extra touch into the game. You can start your adventure alone in these maps, or start off with your friends or random people. These maps include a pirate island, a fantasy world, a serene community town, a Halloween themed map, and even one inspired by The Maze Runner. We’re not exactly sure if the maps are truly infinite, as the developers suggest. However, considering the game is still evolving and they haven’t let their player-base down, this is believable.

World of Cubes Survival Craft isn’t just a Minecraft clone, but rather, an unbelievably well-made one. The maps feel alive, and you’ll never run out of things to do, considering that it constantly changes. Crafting recipes and materials is simplified, and though the learning curve may be steep, a little effort would be enough to master everything.

So, should you play World of Cubes Survival Craft? With tons of content, a living world, numerous customization options, and a gameplay that feels incredibly smooth, it’s highly recommended. Casual gamers or veteran builders will equally find the experience this game gives to be highly satisfying.
