Create your own world, or let others help you.
Explore and experience other people’s worlds.
Edit other people’s worlds if they give you permission.
As its name suggests, Everybody Edits is a sandbox game that encourages people to collaborate and bring their imaginations together. The result - unique worlds that express the creative inclines of each and every person involved in the world, and worlds that can be enjoyed by virtually anyone that has an account.
First off, you’d need to sign up for an account. The website requires an email address for this, and a unique password. Unfortunately, there’s no option to sign up using your Facebook account, which would have made the entire process a lot quicker. Of course, once you’ve signed up, you’d need to come up with a unique username that people can recognize you with inside the Sandbox world.
The first world you’ll have access to is your home world. This is the world that you can make according to your own image. You can go back later on to edit this, as there are plenty of other worlds that you can explore and visit.
At the bottom of the screen is your admin panel. This is where you’ll find the options you can use for designing and decorating your own world. This is also where you can find the button to go the Lobby.
This is where the real fun begins. Take the time to go through the lobby and the many different worlds you can find within. These are ones created by other players specifically for gamers to experience and try out. When you enter a world, you can leave feedback through the chatbox, which you can find at the left-hand portion of the screen.
If you have the Edit code for that world, you can simply enter it at the admin panel and the edit panel can be unlocked. It’s basically just turning that world into your own, so you can edit according to what you think the world needs in order to be more enjoyable for others.
Unlike most sandbox games, players cannot create elaborate avatars. Instead, they can use smileys. They can change smileys to express their moods. At the start, you’ll only have a few but you can gain more the more you play the game.
Everybody Edits functions similarly to 2D side-scrolling games during the classic days of video gaming. You move by pressing the A,S,W and D as directional buttons. If you encounter obstacles, simply jump by pressing the Space button. When you can edit a world, you can add an element by pressing the left mouse button while hovering the pointer over where you want to add that element.
There’s also a social aspect here, as you can add and invite friends both from outside the website and within.
Everybody Edits is totally free to play, and does not require an installer or a client that must be downloaded.
